As of May 3, 2024, Canada officially discontinued the GED® high school equivalency test and introduced a new, made-in-Canada alternative: the Canadian Adult Education Credential (CAEC).

This new credential is now the standard high school equivalency test across most provinces and territories.

If you’re wondering how to take the CAEC online in Canada, there’s one crucial detail to understand: you cannot take the actual CAEC exam online from home.

While the exam itself must be written in person at an approved testing centre, you can prepare for the CAEC entirely online with trusted programs like Cansego.
